"Time to Cut the Cake!": 7 Alternative Dessert Ideas for Your Wedding Day

Cake has always been the traditional option for dessert on a couple's wedding day. As couple's continue to figure out ways to make their wedding day their own, dessert is one topic that needs to be discussed and decided upon.

For couples craving other dessert options, here are some dessert ideas that will satisfy bride, groom and guests:

1. Ice Cream

There is no better way to cool down your guests on a summer day. Have an ice cream truck or create an ice cream sundae bar for your guests with multiple flavors and fun toppings to go with it! Either way, this will refresh your guests; and maybe even keep them on the dance floor until the end of the night.

2. Donuts

Are donuts your favorite treat? Why not have them on your wedding day! Choose your type of donut, favorite flavors, and be creative on how they are displayed! One of our personal favorites a donut kabob! This is such an easy option for guests to just grab and go!

Donut Walls are a DIY Project that is definitely worth taking on to add a little something special to your wedding day. Shari's Berries created a super easy tutorial to help you create the perfect donut wall for your wedding day! Check out the link below!

6. Whoopie Pies

The Whoopie Pie is another sweet treat that is hard to say no to. Some couples display them as a tower and then use this dessert  to replace the traditional "cake cutting". The bride and groom each take a whoopie pie, and gently feeds the other(we wouldn't recommend any other method), with more to go around for all the guests!

7. Pudding Parfaits

Pudding is not a typical wedding day dessert, but delicious none the less. Fill individual glasses for your guests and top with a whole lot of whipped cream! This can be the perfect sweet treat on your big day!
